A customer needs a pentest report before they can buy

The buyer asks for an independent test of your application. Agree what needs testing and what report they'll accept before commissioning the work.

Chapter 01

Read the buyer's request with their reviewer.

The contract is waiting on a pentest report. Ask which application and environment need coverage, how recent the report must be, and what they expect to see about unresolved findings. Confirm any tester-independence requirement too. A report for another product may be current and still fail their review.

Chapter 02

Find out what their existing evidence leaves unanswered.

A scan can identify potential vulnerabilities within its coverage. A scoped pentest can investigate how weaknesses affect your application's actual behavior, including authenticated use. Discuss the buyer's concern with Sythe Labs so the engagement tests relevant paths rather than merely producing a document with the right title.

02 / Coverage · application behavior the buyer needs assessed

Chapter 03

Prepare the scope and access for testing.

Agree the targets and permitted testing with Sythe Labs. Your team provides the authorized environment and accounts needed for the agreed scope. Review the published findings and remediation guidance, then have engineering address the causes. Share the report through an approved channel rather than posting technical findings publicly.

03 / Assessment · authorized testing and findings for engineering

Chapter 04

Keep remediation separate from buyer acceptance.

If the buyer needs verification of fixes, agree a scoped retest. A completed assessment doesn't promise a clean report or a signed contract. If the reviewer accepts an existing report covering the right service, you may not need another engagement just for this deal. Let them confirm that before you repeat the work.

04 / Acceptance · the buyer reviews scope and remaining findings

What you leave with

An agreed assessment scope and a report the buyer can evaluate against its requirement.
